Tips For Everyday Life

On my searches through the internet I have come across a few posts I wanted to share with my loyal followers. Please like and share these bloggers if you enjoy them. They need the likes too.

First up is a brandy new meal planning list. Everyone gets sick of the same old thing every week. Chicken, hamburger, pizza, mac and cheese and so on and so on. So I am always on the look out for something different or something interesting. I like breakfast for dinner for sure and anything stuffed inside dough is sure to be yummy.

This blog has some great ideas and recipes to try out.

Lots of New Things These Days

I think I might just be one of those perpetually busy people. I don't want be. I am lazy, I like doing nothing more than almost everything else. Sadly, that's not really an option when you have kids and a house to run so I sit on my ass when ever I can. This week we had lots to do and long trips to the beach and local parks so when I realized my husband had to work today and it was me and the kids again I decided we were just gonna hang out. Of course I still had to cook and clean and blah blah blah but I even had enough time left over to type away on my lil blog.

That said, I have some fun updates for you all. We made a fairy garden, (no idea how I have gone so long without owning a glue gun!) Stuff is out in the garden again and things are getting eerie around the house.

First, the table and chairs have held up nicely so that is good to know for those of you considering that project. Here is the link for that one. Kids table update

Now this fairy garden, not a bad idea but I think my daughter is still a little too young for projects like this. Little attention span and can't use the glue gun yet. Still I added a new twist to it. Most of the ones you find on pinterest are gems and buttons and tiny furniture in a pot. I decided to add a little actual growing garden. I have some ground cover moss and a couple small flowers. The house is craft sticks and hot glue. Older kids love them.

Now the garden. Once again I jumped the gun and planted everything a little early therefore, lots of stuff had to be replanted but this year is still more successful than last year. Among the slew of things we planted last year we have a few new additions. I am trying my hand at pumpkins and watermelons. My husband is not thrilled about me taking over part of the driveway but meh. Saves him from having to tromp through a pumpkin patch in the fall. (He will still be required to attend apple picking but he's a good sport.) I upped my production quite a bit ie, 10 Green bean plants, 14 tomatoes and three climbing tomatoes, 10 peas etc. This year in New England we had a strange fall and winter and as a result, spring. Too warm in the fall and basically no winter but Spring was late. Anyhow, our growing season is a bit shorter this year. Fortunately, everything seems to be adapting and is beginning to produce. Very exciting!

I have several projects I'm adding to my list like a pallet compost pile. It's incredibly easy, all you really need is four pallets, zip ties and cardboard and news paper. My land is filled with worms so I imagine it won't take long until they find it. This is a great way to fertilize your garden yourself, reduce your trash output and get your one step closer to self sufficiency.

I also have begun collecting my flower petals and making bath salts and rose water. Takes ten minutes and you fell a bit fancy. Why not! Some epsom salt and rose petals with your favorite scents. Can't get much easier than that.
